How to get a drivers licence

Driver’s license transcriber : They are free to join the theory course.

• Also possible just to book only the English theory course. So you could  finish at practice at your local school.  (but tell us that before)

STEP 2: For both groups, Beginner and Converting licence:

After registering in the driving school, an application for the driver’s license at any City hall has to be submitted. 

For that, an online-appointment has to be booked.

How do I do this?

• – After opening the link, please go to  Dienstleistungen A-Z 
• – And then choose:     F – Fahrerlaubnis – Ersterteilung beantragen

Now you can proceed to check for availability and book your appointment (Berlin)

For your appointment, following documents are requested:

• first aid course certificate

• biometric picture

• eye test

• passport

• 50,00 € 

• certificate of registration in Germany (Anmeldebestätigung)

• please give name and address of the driving school – FAHRSCHULE OSCAR, Hauptstr. 92, 12159 Berlin

• please give name and address of the test organization (in German: Prüfstelle) –  TÜV, Alboinstr.  56, 12103 Berlin

• specify which license: B (car manual/automatic), A (Motorbike)

• passport

After having completed the theory course  ( only beginner), you need to do a mock test at the driving school prior to the theory exam. If you pass it, you can  go directly to the test organization (no appointment necessary) to pass there the theory exam. Please bring your passport and the approval letter.

Only after you get the approval letter from the Bürgeramt you are allowed to pass the exam (this takes around 8–12 weeks). 

Important: The successful theory test is needed to book an the practical exam for you!!!!

also you have to pay  the complete invoice  for  theory and practise to the testorganisation( TÜV) in advance.

(This payment is independent and not for the driving school Oscar)

Note: If you do not pay it in advance a booking for  a practical exam is not possible
